José Luis Molina is a full professor at the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), Spain. He is an economic anthropologist interested in livelihood practices in a globalized, digitalized, and unequal world. He has conducted research funded by international agencies like the NSF and the ESF on migration, ethnic and social entrepreneurship, and personal network analysis. He has been visiting scholar of the Department of Anthropology (University of Florida, USA) and the Max Planck Institute of Religious and Cultural Diversity (Germany), among other international institutions. His approach is through mixed methods with an emphasis on ethnography and personal network analysis. Southeast Europe and Romania, in particular, are their primary areas of interest. Currently is the President of the Research Ethics Committee of the UAB.
